While retaining beneficial fluoride, this filter is NSF¨ Certified to reduce/remove chlorine taste and odor, lead, particulates, cysts and other additional contaminants. The contaminants or other substances removed or reduced by ukf7003 water filter are not necessarily in all users' water. For freshest water and optimal performance, replace water filter every 6 months.

After changing the ukf7003 water filter, you must reset the Filter Change Indicator Light.To reset CHANGE FILTER light: Press and hold the LIGHT and LOCK pads until the CHANGE FILTER light blinks (approx. 3 seconds). The control is now reset for 12 months or another 416 gallons. [whichever comes first]. Note: the 7003 filter is rated at 6 months replacement because it filters more substances than the 7002. The pricing is the same. I have no problem with this over the past several years. If you buy from maytagfilters.com it will cost more ($35.95 if you buy 3) than the home center pricing ($34.95 for 1), but the AMAZON price is the best around.
